Australian bank credentials traded online

Heads up. Although the numbers are small the fact is Australia is open for business, and it appears we are becoming a more targeted nation. We have slowly been moving up the list for months.
An investigation by cyber intelligence researchers has shown credentials belonging to at least 14,000 Commbank customers, 7,000 ANZ customers, 5,000 NAB and 4,000 Westpac customers are available on the messaging platform Telegram and the dark web
The Australian firm Dvuln, which made the discovery, said the passwords were stolen directly from users' personal devices, which had been infected with a type of malware known as an "infostealer".
For the record all personal devices should receive updates at least monthly related to closing security gaps in the operating systems. This includes Microsoft, Apple, Google (Android) and Linux which is the quietest operating system out there.
Windows - this month cumulative update
Android - this month - security update - apps are a separate issue
Linux - as soon as available - its Linux
Apple - I am assuming every month, but I don't have any.
If your devices are not receiving updates find out why and if necessary, replace it.
If you want to see if your email address has been compromised, go here. For example, mine has been compromised via Gravatar a service I didn't want but was used by a forum I was using at the time.

Have a nice day
